Brad Resse of Kids II wins Inventables

12/1/2004 – Chicago, ILBrad_Reese_small

Inventables awarded Brad Resse of Kids II with the latest issue of DesignAid, an interactive hands on collection of 20 provocative materials and technologies, for winning their “Creative Idea Challenge.”

Inventables’ “Creative Idea Challenge” ran throughout the length of IDSA’s 2004 national conference. It allowed attendees to compete for the latest issue of Design Aid by brainstorming the most creative use of rebound elastomeric netting, a thin netting material strongly resistant to rips and tears due to its elasticity, for a consumer product.

The IDSA National Conference is the largest of its kind in the US, drawing between 600 and 800 design professionals from all areas of the industry and from all around the US, Europe and Asia. The 2004 conference took place at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium & Conference Center October 27-30.

At the end of the conference, Inventables announced the winner as Brad Resse. His creative innovation for the material was to use it in a travel case. When open, the stretched mesh would open up to make a rack to easily place and take travel items like toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, etc. When closed, the mesh should compact all items into a small space for travel, while keeping everything oriented in the same position to save space and prevent mess.
